Compatibility

Supported FIT Devices & Platforms

ActivityDoctor works from the FIT file structure, not from a hard-coded list of watch models. Compatibility depends on whether the activity contains standards-compliant FIT messages and how much of a damaged file remains readable.

Common FIT ecosystems

COMMON

Garmin

Garmin watches, bike computers and other devices commonly export FIT Activity files. Standard Record, Lap, Session and Activity messages are the main compatibility target.

COMMON

Wahoo / COROS / Suunto

Files produced by other FIT-capable devices may work when they follow the public FIT protocol. Vendor-specific developer fields may be displayed partially or omitted during a compatibility rebuild.

PLATFORM

Strava / Training platforms

ActivityDoctor can prepare repaired or converted files for re-import attempts, but it cannot guarantee acceptance by a third-party platform.

Compatibility labels

Format compatible means ActivityDoctor can parse the core FIT structure. Recovered means enough Record data was read to create a salvage/rebuild. Not fully preserved means proprietary metadata or developer fields may be omitted.

If you find a device/firmware pattern that does not parse correctly, please submit a metadata-only bug report. Sharing the actual FIT file is optional.
